David Benjamin Keldani, was a Roman Catolic priest at the Uniate-Chaldean sect. His story is a
sad one, about a "man of God" turning toward the darkness of Islam. He was born in 1867 at Urmia in Persia.
In 1904 he was (alledgedly) sent by the British and Foreign Unitarian Association to carry on an educational and
enlightening work among his country people. On his way to Persia he visited Constantinople; and after several interviews
with Sheiku 'I-Islam Jemalu 'd-Din Effendi and other Ulemas, he embraced Islam, changing his name to 'Abdu 'l-Ahad Dawud.
